ABOUT ME

Susanne Thomson MSc, BSc (Hons), MBACP (Accred), NCPS (Accred)

Pluralistic Psychotherapist, Clinical Supervisor and Somatic, Breathwork, Trauma-Informed Practitioner

Hello and welcome.

I'm Susanne Thomson, an accredited psychotherapist, clinical supervisor, and trauma-informed practitioner. I believe that healing, growth, and wellbeing are deeply personal journeys, and that no single approach works for everyone. My role is not to tell you who to be or how to live your life, but to walk alongside you with curiosity, compassion, and respect as you discover what feels right for you.

Over the past 20 years, I have supported people through some of life's most challenging experiences, including trauma, complex trauma, sexual abuse, anxiety, loss, life transitions, and emotional overwhelm. My experience spans front-line trauma services, educational settings, third-sector organisations, and private practice, giving me a broad understanding of the many ways life can impact our wellbeing.

My approach is pluralistic, which means I work collaboratively and flexibly, tailoring therapy to your unique needs, strengths, values, and goals. I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches, alongside somatic awareness, breathwork, mindfulness, and creative ways of working when appropriate. I recognise that our experiences are shaped not only by our thoughts and emotions, but also by our bodies, relationships, environment, and sense of meaning in the world.

I aim to offer a warm, inclusive, and non-judgemental space where you can bring all parts of yourself. Whether you are seeking support through a difficult period, looking to better understand yourself, or hoping to create meaningful change in your life, we will work together to find an approach that feels supportive, empowering, and authentic to you.

At the heart of my work is a simple belief: every person has the capacity for growth, healing, and change when they are met with understanding, acceptance, and the right support. I believe healing often begins when we no longer feel we need to hide parts of ourselves. In our work together, there is space for your strengths and struggles, your fears and hopes, your questions and uncertainties. There is space for laughter, tears, reflection, and growth. You are not expected to arrive as a polished version of yourself; you are invited to arrive exactly as you are.

All of you is welcome here.
